Do I need a heavy vehicle licence to apply?
No.  Ventura will provide licence training to suitable applicants who hold a good driving record, upgrading them to a Medium Rigid Licence (conditions apply).  Suitable applicants must have held a Victorian Licence for 12 months and be able to drive a manual vehicle.

But I don’t come from a driving background?
Many of our drivers have had different careers before becoming a professional driver.  Our team puts all new drivers through a comprehensive induction program.

What shifts will I be required to work?
Because of the nature of the work, drivers are required to be available for rotating rosters between 4am – 2am, 7 days a week.  Shifts can vary between split shifts, and can include school runs, rail replacements and public transport route services.  We are currently accepting applications for those interested in casual work.

Can I pick which depot I will work at?
We will endeavour to place suitable applicants to their preferred depot as much as possible.  However, this is sometimes not possible due to availability.

What about career advancement opportunities?
Many of our current staff within Management, Training, Planning and Operational roles have all started their career with Ventura as a Driver.  We encourage Drivers to apply for roles when advertised.

All Ventura Drivers require a Driver’s Accreditation and Medical Assessment from the Taxi Services Commission.  Consent is also required to check and release police records.
